Playstation Store Update For 9-4-08 – Qore Is Still Useless

A new episode of Qore. This one has the MotorStorm: Pacific Rift Demo! SWEET!

Oh wait… it won’t be available for download until September 11th. Seems like we’ve heard this before.

If past performance is any indicator, we’ll never see it. Did I say never? With the exception of a Naruto demo (that became available to everyone a week later) NONE of the ‘exclusive’ content that was promised to subscribers has been available for download.

I’ve come to expect another useless episode of Qore each month, and they can ############ with their subcription.

I mean that from the bottom of my black little heart.

Full list inside.

  1. The demo is coming out next week, a full month before anyone else gets it. We don’t have control over when developers decide their product is ready. We’re still getting people in earlier, which I think is a good thing.

  2. I realize you don’t have control over the developers or their scheduling, but your directors should have control over what appears in Qore, and at what time.

I’m not saying you PERSONALLY are responsible (notice the article doesn’t have the title ‘Veronica Belmont Is Useless’, but I am saying that Qore was originally marketed as, among other things, a way to get access to betas, and to get access to exclusive demos.

We’ve had early access to exactly ONE demo, and nobody holding a subscription is playing the SOCOM Beta tonight, when it is already live.

While I’d be happy to get access to the MotorStorm demo early, THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED YET, and with the track record your publication has, I’ll believe it when I see it.

4 months, 1 demo, and video features that appear through other sources within minutes of a new episode’s release… for free. This is NOT worth the money, and it’s not delivering on what was promised.

Again, I’m not singling you out, I know you have no control over the matter… but please don’t insult my intelligence or discount my opinion because something is ‘coming soon’.

The special bonus for Episode 1 is still ‘Coming Soon’… four months later.

If you do, in fact, get people in early, that would be a good thing, but it’s not happening so far.

Start hitting your goals on a regular basis, and I’ll be happy.

Until then, I’ll be cynical, and critical.
