Burnout Paradise Trophies NOT Retroactive!

In the wee hours today, Criterion released the much anticipated patch for Burnout Paradise that would add Trophy Support for rabid overachievers on PS3.

Alas, contrary to early promises, trophies will not be awarded for past accomplishments and will require a new save game. The developers were confident they could pull it off, but ‘in testing, we found it wasn’t going to work.’

While this may be a disappointment to those that were looking for an instant boost to their Gamer Level, you can’t be too upset with a developer that has given players an amazing level of FREE content since the game was released.

Next time, just don’t tell us about it, until you’re sure… that way we won’t be bummed. This is actually starting to become a habit with PS3 titles, with LittleBigPlanet not having online co-op creation at launch, and the Qore debacle.

At least the Burnout patch gives us all another reason to go back and play through an amazing game.
