PS3 Trophy Tips : Bejeweled 2

Yep… we have strategies, tips, and even a cheat for Bejeweled 2 Trophies.

Hope it helps!

Bronze Trophies

Classic Rock

Complete Level 5 in Classic Mode

Tip: Not terribly difficult, but there are a couple strategies to help you get it quickly. Try to clear gems towards the bottom of the screen first. This increases your chances of getting a cascade. Since this is not a timed mode, always make sure you know what your next move is going to be BEFORE you clear a set of gems. This will help you make decisions that will keep the game going, instead of running out of moves (and as a consequence your game will end). If given a choice between getting a 4X or setting up your next move, forget the 4x… keep making sure you have another move.

Action Hero

Complete Level 5 in Action Mode

Tip: Gaining Levels in Action Mode is based on cascades, or chains. Each successful move adds to your time bar, and when it’s full, you gain a level. The trick to getting to Level 5 (and higher) is to do it as FAST AS POSSIBLE. Combos are worth more points and add to your counter more than getting two sets of gems at the same time. If you have a choice between destroying 2 sets at the same time, or destroying 1 set that will collapse and cause a different set to be destroyed when it all settles (a cascade), go for the cascade… every time. Work fast, plan ahead, and good luck.

Casual Carat

Complete Level 10 in Endless mode

Tip: They don’t call it Endless for nothing. This is a simple grind. Just keep playing until you hit Level 11, the Trophy will unlock.

Detonator

Destroy 12 gems in a single move

Tip: Use Endless Mode to get this Trophy. Your chances of getting a big cascade (and this Trophy) are increased by clearing gems at the bottom of the screen. Stay low, work towards getting one set of gems to clear, collapsing and creating another set (a cascade). Odds are good you’ll get the other six gems as the entire structure collapses. If not, keep trying… it won’t take long.

Diamonds are Forever

Make 3 blue matches in a row

Tip: Do you really need a tip for this one?

Jewel Keeper

Clear 5,000 gems

Tip: If you’ve already finished the ‘Casual Carat’ Trophy, you’re probably pretty close. If not, just use Endless Mode and grind it through.

100K Club

Score 100,000 in Action Mode or Classic Mode

Tip: Action Mode in Bejeweled 2 has an easy exploit for this one, but it takes a little time. Your score is a function of how many gems you clear with each move, with a multiplier based on your current level. Each level makes the timer countdown faster, but your score grow quicker. You gain more time with each successful clearing of gems, and when your timer fills up, you go up a level. SO THE EASY TRICK IS TO GET TO LEVEL 2 OR 3, AND DON’T LET THE TIMER FILL UP. At that level, the game isn’t very challenging. Slow down… take your time, don’t let time run out, but don’t fill up the timer either. The game won’t get any faster, and it won’t take too long to get your 100,000 points.

Silver Trophies

Six Shooter

Get a 6x Cascade

Tip: Use Endless Mode to get this Trophy. Your chances of getting a big cascade (and this Trophy) are increased by clearing gems at the bottom of the screen. Stay low, work towards getting one set of gems to clear, collapsing and creating another set (a cascade). Odds are good you’ll get the others as the entire structure collapses It may not happen the first or second time, but it will happen… and probably quicker than you think.

Powermad

Create 200 Power Gems

Tip: Use Endless Mode to get this Trophy. Again, if you’ve already worked towards the ‘Casual Carat’ Trophy, you’re probably pretty close. It’s easiest to set this up horizontally, two same-colored gems on one side, a gem of any other color, and then a single gem of the same color as the first set. An example would be: Blue Blue Green Blue. You can then work on clearing gems above your setup, and dropping them vertically through the ‘gap’ you’ve created (the green gem in our example).

Hypercube Hoarder

Create 50 Hypercubes

Tip: This is almost identical to ‘Powermad’, you’ll just want to set up with two sets of two and a gap in the middle. Example: Blue Blue Green Blue Blue.

Dimensional Rift

Have 5 Hypercubes on the game board

Tip: Use Endless Mode to get this Trophy. Absolutely the hardest Trophy in the game, but only because it’s time intensive, and it takes a lot of luck.Create one hypercube at a time, move it to the bottom of the screen by destroying gems beneath it. Rinse and repeat. DO NOT CREATE EXPLOSIVE POWER GEMS UNLESS YOU HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE. Also understand that no matter how well things are going, you may be forced to use a hypercube when no other moves are available. In that situation, make your choice carefully, the last thing you want to do is drop an explosive power gem in a place that will cause it to explode next to one of your hypercubes. Take it in stride, keep after it… you’ll get it eventually.

Gold Trophy

Puzzlemaster

Complete Puzzle Mode

Tip: You can easily finish this one off by continually hitting the ‘Hint’ button… until you hit a puzzle called ‘Gaean Reach’. At this point, the game will force you to solve the puzzle yourself. It’s not that bad, and once you finish it, you can complete the rest of Puzzle Mode using ‘Hint’ again (it’s only disabled for the one level). Puzzle too much for you? You can find a video showing how to solve it in a couple moves right here.
