Home Video Review: Zack And Miri Make A Porno

Kevin Smith’s films have always spoken to my generation. Something about the blending of taboo, social commentary, and pop-culture references that cater to people growing up in the eighties seems to click.

As Mr. Smith has matured, so have his films and his audience. While some may argue that ‘Jersey Girl’ didn’t play to his strong points, and spent too much time dwelling on realizations of relationships, parenthood, and responsibility… the film was still very much aimed at an audience that is now facing those very same life events. It was the first of his works to move away from the relative comfort of his familiar set of characters and settings.

‘Zack and Miri’ once again steps outside of the ‘Askew-niverse’, the land of Jay and Silent Bob, but explores some very familiar territory for his fans.
